DIET- CRC linkage Activity

DIET-CRC linkage has been envisioned as per MHRD guidelines (Restructuring and Reorganization of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Teacher Education, 2012 and Framework of Implementation of Samagra Shiksha by MHRD. District Institute Education and Training (DIET) is a nodal agency at district level for planning, implementation and monitoring pedagogical activities in the entire District and Cluster resource centers (CRCs) were established in each block of every district under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) to conduct in-service teacher training and to provide academic support to teacher and schools on a regular basis as well as to help in community mobilization activity. CRCs are grass root level resource center that work for schools. In order to strengthen CRC, it must be linked with district resource center i.e DIET for getting enriched material resources and human resources.

Modalities of Strengthening CRC by the DIET

  • Strengthening CRC as a rich academic resource with ample of reference materials and local resources for the teachers
  • Development of strong human resource pool
  • To visit CRC twice a month and provide academic support by interacting with CRCC
  • School visit twice in a month for addressing emerging pedagogical issues and issues related to school development
  • Organization of monthly meeting for discussing academic issues and planning strategies for better performance of the school
  • Need based training and orientation for the teachers( action research, content & pedagogy, NCF ,2005, RTE Act, NPE 2019 etc)
  • Interaction with SMC about academic mentoring and  Orienting them about their functions
  •  Setting up performance indicators to track and enhance school performance
  • Designing  a quality improvement plan per SSA goal and strive to achieve that goal in time bound manner
  • Each Teacher Educator will be in charge of one block to conduct DIET- CRC linkage activities and the whole work will be monitored by Principal DIET Jajpur, Dolipur and DIET CRC linkage co-coordinator.

Action plan for DIET-CRC linkage Programme

Maintain a cluster wise data base of schools, teachers, number of students, resources available, number of Anganwadies or any pre-school programmes.

  • Preparation of plans to strengthen academic related activities at school level.
  • Regular discussion with CRCCS, ABEOs, BEO of the block on academic issues both in online and offline mode.
  • Conduct regular PLC meeting for discussion on different educational trends and issues.
  • Identifying the issues pertaining to classroom transaction, assessment and learning achievement of the block through observation and discussion with stakeholders and share those with BEO and DEO for the improvement in achievements of the students.
  • E- content development in collaboration of DIET with teachers of the block
  • organizing workshop for development of higher order questions for attainment of learning outcomes of the students
  • On-line capacity building of teachers and CRCCs also face-to face training.
  • Establish linkage between the resource centers at different levels for improving teacher performance.
  • Develop a cluster-wise action plan for attainment of learning outcomes of the children.
  • Conduct collaborative action research with CRCCS and teacher.

  Activities conducted under DIET-CRC Linkage

  • Different blocks allotted to TEs and  TEs
  • WhatsApp groups formed including  Teacher Educator(In-charge), Principal DIET, Coordinator DIET-CRC linkage, BEO, ABEO, CRCCs.
  • Virtual meeting conducted by the faculties and Principal with the CRCCs, ABEOs, BEOs and some selected teachers for discussing it’s vision and mission.
  • Data collected by In-charge -No. of students (cluster wise and class wise), teachers, resource available in the block (cluster wise), resource teachers  in each cluster (subject wise), No. of Anganwadis or any pre-school programme.
  • Major issues in accomplishing academic areas have identified by the faculties for all blocks.
  • Weekly PLC meeting conducted by TE in charge with BEO. ABEO, CRCCs and MRPs of different subjects for discussing some major issues and trends in education.
  • Communication materials on NEP2020 prepared by teachers of different blocks with the guidance of the in charge teacher educators. These materials were scrutinized and best 05 were sent for state level competition.
