HISTORY
This Institute born as a Govt. Secondary Training School (ST School) in the year, 26 August 1961.The foundation stone of this campus was laid by Prafulla Rath, Dramatist,Director. Its intake capacity was fifty pupil-teacher at that time. The first HM was Mr. M.A. Hai from 22.12. 1962. After New Education Policy this institute upgrade as District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kalahandi at Bhawanipatna and established in year 11.11.1988. The old building was inaugurated by Prof. Bhubaneswar Behera former VC, Sambalpur University in year 02/12/1972 in presence of Dr. Debendra Chandra Mishra (Director of State Education ).Now its intake capacity of Pupil-teacher is Hundreds.
In the campus the Gangadhar Meher statue inaugurated by former C.I. Kalahandi, Shri Radhakanta Mishra with HM Shri Manmath Das , it was whole contribution of Pupil -Teachers of the year 1970-1973.
