DIET, Keonjhar is a noal Teachers Training Institution in the District which has contributed a lot towards the training of perspective teachers as well as training of in-service teachers. It has crossed a long history of ups and downs. In spite of that this institution has prepared many commited teachers at Elementary school level who have been rendering their services since long.

Teachers are the most important element and backbone o the school system and teaching is a highly professional activity demands specialized knowledge, skill and behavior. The approach for preparing humane and professional teachers need to be holistic one. Teacher Education Institution should help teachers to realize sensitivity towards cultural values. The professional and humane teachers are expected to be reflective practitioners of education thought and practice .
