HISTORY

 

Cuttack is the silver city of India. Every body knows that Cuttack city is the heart of culture and Education of Odisha, It is situated between two  rivers i.e. the  Mahanadi and the Kathajodi river and it was also old capital of Odisha.

In this city Hindi teachers’ Training Institute was established in the year 1956 in Non-Planned scheme. It had been imparting Hindi Training named Hindi teachers’ Training certificate course examination to untrained in-service Hindi teachers of the state. But it was defuncted by the Govt. vide Resolution No. 14941 dated 27.06.02.

But in pursuance of decision taken in the meeting chaired by the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Odisha at 10.30 a.m. on Sept.06, 2005. The erstwhile Hindi Training Institute, Cuttack revived and started function in the premises of the above said Hindi Training Institute with effect from 26. 09.2005 vide office order no. 5238/ of Directorate of Teacher Education  & SCERT, Dated 20.09.2005. for strengthening the study of National  language Hindi as in schools of Odisha State.

The Second High Level meeting was held on 17.04.2006 under the chairmanship of Sri Ajit Kumar Tripathy. IAS, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary. It was decided in the meeting that the annual intake capacity for the course would be 100 inservice Hindi Teachers, and will be selected on the basis of their seniority in their serivce from among the secondary schools of the state for Hindi teachers’ training certificate course from the session 2006-07 . It was also decided that the Govt. Hindi teachers’ training institute, Cuttack should be affiliated to the Board of secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack and HTTC Examination would be conducted as like  previous practice.

It was also decided that another separate attempt would be made to start one year Hindi Teachers’ Training course, equivalent to B.Ed. Degree and the Institute would be affiliated to the Utkal University.

On the basis of the decision taken in two High Level meetings , School and Mass Education Dept. Govt. of Odisha notified an Office Memorandum on 17, June 2006.

In order to make the Institute functional following teaching and non-teaching staff have been put in position :

 

  • One Principal , OES II.
  • Two class II officers in Orissa Education service.
  • Three Lecturers
  • Two Hindi Teahcers with requisite qualification for lectureship
  • One Junior librarian
  • One Senior Asst.
  • Two class IV employees.
