Our Vision

  • To prepare quality teachers for elementary and secondary schools of the state.
  • The ultimate goal of the DIET, is to organize and provide resource support to elementary and secondary school teachers in bringing out qualitative improvement in the field of elementary as well as secondary education.
  • To bring about holistic development of the elementary and secondary students of Jagatsinghpur district.

Different Academic Branches of DIET: –

 

In this Institute in D.El.Ed wing 05 Sr. Teacher Educator, 05 Teacher Educator, one Statistical Investigator, two office assistant, one Computer Teacher, four Peons are working. Besides six guest faculties in the rank of professor, Asst. Professor and Associate Professor in B.Ed wing are teaching. The institute is under one principal.

After the enforcement of RTE Act-2009 and with the changing circumstances Govt. of India proposed 5 departments in DIETs and Director , TE & SCERT issued guideline vide letter No.2942 dtd.12.04.18 for revised 5 academic branches and as such this DIET also restructured 5 branches follows:-

1.pre-Service Teacher Education (PSTE):- Regular classes and internship for Pre-Service Programme of 2 years D.El.Ed  course & 2 year B.Ed course with intake 300 and preparation for teacher eligibility test ( OTET and CTET )

  1. Teacher Professional Development (TPD):- In-service training to prepare Master Trainers in each subject of English, Math, Odia, history, Geography and Science.
  2. Educational Technology and Material Development ( ET& MD):-
  3. Assessment & Evaluation ( A& E )
  4. Field Interaction and Action Research (FI& AR):- Research by teacher and students.

Our achievement during last year –

With Sincere 5year effort of DIET to motivate the teachers for achieving quality in primary education, by which this district remained numero uno in odisha in National Achievement Survey& even better than national average which shows our commitment for academic excellence in the district in school education.

  • This year in Final B.Ed. university examination 2018, Utkal-University topper is from this Institute.
  • This year in D.El.Ed final examination-2018, 2 D.El.Ed Students remained in top ten in Board Examination.
  • In previous OTET examination 91 successfully qualified OTET examinations out of 94 and 20 qualified CTET examination.
  • In Jagatsinghpur district 2298 untrained teachers have enrolled for D.El.Ed course through NIOS in 19 study centre where DIET is the nodal centre and one of the study centres where 191 NIOS students enrolled.
  • DIET have following materials have been developed by DIET training module on Odia, English and 5E Model Lesson Plan.

Contribution of the Institute:-

  1. Three days workshops for primary teachers on need & identification of hotspots in different subject have been conducted.
  2. First phase & 2nd phase content based pedagogy with Integrated assessment for primary teachers was conducted from 30-01-2018 to 22-02-2018.
  3. Leadership training programme for Headmaster from 5-04-2018 to 17-04-2018 was conducted.
  4. District level master trainer training programme on UJJWAL & UTTHAN from 12-04-2018 to 16-04-2018was held.
  5. Capacity building workshop for CRCCs & ABEOs on post NAS intervention with SAATH-E initiated had been conducted in four batches from 28-09-2018 to 06-10-2018.
  6. Successfully completed School Certificate Progrmme on Garima award in 952 primary and upper primary Schools. This programme lasted from 28.08.2019 to 25.09.2019 . All the faculties and pupil teachers of D.El.Ed and B.Ed actively made this programme success.

Time constraint prevents me from mentioning the numerous other achievement of this Institute.

Research Activity: –

  • Each pupil teachers present one Action research project through PPT being guided by the faculties and submitted hard and soft copy.

Conduct of Research work by faculties –

  1. Study on “ Impact of effectiveness of monthly sharing meeting of Jagatsinghpur district by Shree. Sakti Prasad Mishra.
  2. Study on the Impact of UJJWAL programmed in the district of Jagatsinghpur by Smt. Mayabini Das and Smt. Prajnadipti Sahoo.

   Programme Advisory Committee (PAC)

  • In order to finalize the activities to be conducted by DIET, the Programme Advisory Committee seats under the chairmanship of Collector and District Magistrate.
