History

The District Institute of Education & Training,Rayagada,Bissamcuttack get opening permission from Education Department as Letter No.36724/E Dated 27/11/1972. This permission letter given by B.N.Roy,Deputy Secretary Govt. of Odisha. It was established on Dt.13/01/1973 Letter No.1675 of Govt. of Odisha,Education Department. At that time the name of the institute was Secondary Training School,Bissamcuttack. Its intake capacity 50 students both 1st year & 2nd year.

As per the Letter No.9617 Dated 07/06/2010 of School & Mass Education  the name of the institute was changed from  Secondary Training  School,Bissamcuttack to District Institute of Education & Training,Rayagada,Bissamcuttack.

Its present campus at Bissamcuttack is located on a 27437.17 (Sq.mtr) area, with the Maa Markama temple to its East, BSNL office to its West, Christian Hospital, Bissamcuttack to its North and Maa Markama College to its South.

At present intake capacity is being raised 50 to 100 students both 1st year & 2nd year. It has play an important role for Education in Rayagada District.
