The present Institute is upgraded to District Institute of Education and Training(DIET) by the sanction of the Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi vide letter No.F 14-15/97-TE-II, dtd.27.04.2001 and No.F.44.39/2004 EE9, dtd.29.12.2014 and pursuant to Notification No.10701/SME, dtd.25.05.2005 of the Department of School and Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. The intake capacity for D.El.Ed. course is 100 (one hundred) vide letter No.A78554, dtd.03.12.2013 of NCTE,New Delhi.
